Why do people not create?

What better way is there to be inspired than to read the words of someone who is inspiring and successful? In my mind: there is almost no better way to be inspired than by the words of geniuses.

Here is a quote to help inspire your creativity today, made by world-famous psychologist, the father of humanistic psychology, and pioneer of the human hierarchy of needs, Abraham Maslow:

The key question isn’t “What fosters creativity?” But it is why in God’s name isn’t everyone creative? Where was the human potential lost? How was it crippled? I think therefore a good question might be not why do people create? But why do people not create or innovate? We have got to abandon that sense of amazement in the face of creativity, as if it were a miracle if anybody created anything.

The next time you are looking at someone else’s idea, instead of trying to figure out how they did it… try asking why they did it. Or, if you are trying to find a way to make an idea of your own, try rephrasing the question of “How can I do this?” to “Why should I do it this way?”
