Rick Astley’s 10 Tips for Being Creative

He is one of the most successful, creative geniuses of our time, and he has become an internet phenomenon overnight. He’s no stranger. He knows the rules, and he is fully committed to being creative.

Of course I’m talking about Rick Astley, world–famous singer and songwriter.

Through–out his career, Rick has been globally recognized as a man with great talent. But how did Rick become such a symbol of creativity and brilliance? By using the following ten tips for being creative, that’s how.

If you want to be as successful and creative as Rick Astley, follow these tips provided by Rick himself:

  1. Never give up.
Keep going. You won’t be able to tell if an idea is a good one until you make it into a real, tangible thing. If you really want to be creatively successful, giving up can’t be an option.

  2. Never let yourself down.
Strive to constantly build yourself up. Do things you love to do, do things you are great at, and always tell yourself how great you really are. A little self confidence can do wonders for your creativity.

  3. Never run around.
Sit down and focus on one idea, rather than running around doing fifty things at once. You may make a little progress while focusing on more than one thing at a time, but you won’t get a single one finished.

  4. Never cry.
There are few things in life worth crying about, failure is definitely not one of them. And you will fail, a lot. Instead of crying about your failures, learn from them and don’t make the same mistakes.

  5. Never say goodbye.
Connect with other people, and stay connected. You never know when someone will be able to help you come up with an extraordinary idea. And if you are constantly in contact with as many people as you possibly can, you are giving yourself more opportunities to learn new things from other’s experiences.

  6. Never lie (or hurt yourself).
Like your Mother use to say: be honest with yourself and with everyone you meet. Lying just builds webs of confusion in your brain, hurting your creativity.

  7. Never give up.
“Most people give up just when they’re about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown” — Ross Perot.

  8. Never give up.
    Really.

  9. Never give up.
    Hang in there.

  10. Never give up.
